Villa Olivia

The history of Villa Olivia

The original house was built in the middle of the 1800’s. Part of the house served as a café in the small mountain village of Kato Klima.

Two severe earthquakes in 1950 and 1965 laid waste to the village, and very little of it remains to this day. Only the area adjacent to the village church of Agioi Anargyroi survived relatively intact. Even though Villa Olivia is direct adjacent to the church, it was rendered uninhabitable by the disasters. The local population was moved to Neo Klima (Elios) and the area was almost entirely vacant.

Eventually, the house was rebuilt and in 2005 it was given the current name of Villa Olivia.
